Morgan +8 Automatic Conversion

Convert the Car from a manual to auto transmission.

The owner wanted a classic car that his wife could also drive, Morgan’s weren’t available with an auto option. He contacted us after being turned away from other companies saying that it wouldn’t be possible to convert. Using an automatic gearbox taken from a Rover SD1 & after modifications to the chassis & cross member to accommodate the wider auto box, a complete new tunnel & a modified pedal box, it was transformed into a very nice useable car.

MGB GT Fast Road Car

Strip and detail underside of the car and engine bay, detail suspension and build engine to fast road spec.

This is a very early MK1 GT. The owner had already had the car painted but just wanted it to be checked over, & have a small amount of rust sorted on the underside. The customer also wanted a bit more power so a breathed on engine was to be built for it. This soon escalated into a complete underside and engine bay detailing as a number of suspect areas & bad repairs over the years where discovered. The car was put on the Spit, the underside taken back to bare metal, treated, primed, stone chipped and black waxed, & cavity waxed, while the engine bay was flatted back, any surface rust removed, primed and painted in body colour. The suspension & engine bay furniture where blasted & painted in 2K black. While we were at it a 4 pot caliper brake upgrade was fitted to cope with the extra power. A nice smooth engine with plenty of grunt was specified. 1900CC, flowed cylinder head & fast road cam, with a fully balanced bottom end, breathing through a pair of 1 ½” SU carbs and a LCB manifold treated with a zircotec coating to keep the heat down made it a very nice engine indeed.

Aston Martin DBS V8

Replace sills and re-commission the car.

This was a genuine low mileage car that had been off the road for a number of years, we were asked to re-commission & sympathetically restore the car so not to lose the patina the car had. The interior was nice, showing a bit of ageing. Mechanically the car was very good as was the body, but was in need of a full repaint as it was generally tatty. It also required a pair of outer sills, for which you cut the lower section of the body off, & an area of chassis. Any other issues found were attended to accordingly, primed and the underside was then finished in a fine stone chip and black underbody wax. All the box sections and cavities where injected with cavity wax for longevity. The interior only required small amount of work on the driver’s seat. The engine received and complete service & tune up. We outsource any of the paint and trimming work required on cars to specialist companies that we use regularly and that we work closely with from start to finish.

Aston Martin DB6 Volante

Strip and detail the underside & engine bay.

This DB6 came into have the underside stripped of underseal, cleaned, and detailed, the suspension cleaned, painted and re-assembled with new bushes. When inspected, hairline cracks were found in the chassis & inner wings that were caused from previous competition history & the onset of rust in areas of the engine bay. This necessitated the removal of the engine and gearbox, the removal of the panels found to be fatigued, new sections of panel work made up & welded in. With the this work now taking place it allowed us to strip back of the remaining paintwork in the engine bay & attend to any rust issues found. It was then primed and painted, along with the rest of the furniture for the engine bay, new cupro-nickel pipework was made up to finish off. The engine and gearbox where cleaned up and installed back into the car.
